Halfords has declared that it will shut down all of its stores on Boxing Day and New Year’s Day this year. The cycling business experienced a 9% sales increase for the half-year ending on September 26 compared to the previous year, contributing to a 3.3% growth in total revenues to £893.3 million. Furthermore, the motoring and autocentres segments saw like-for-like revenue growth of 1.1% and 4.3%, respectively.
In a similar decision, Home Bargains will also keep its stores closed on Boxing Day and New Year’s Day, maintaining a tradition from previous years.
