Vogue Williams was emotional after realizing a lifelong ambition by participating in a beloved BBC show. The 40-year-old TV host, who began her TV journey over 15 years ago on the Irish reality series Fade Street, has accumulated an impressive list of on-screen roles.
Having appeared on shows like Bear Grylls: Mission Survive, I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!, and the 2020 Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special, Vogue will now join celebrities like Olympic boxer Nicola Adams, fitness expert Joe Wicks, and Made in Chelsea’s Sam Thompson on a celebrity edition of the revamped Gladiators series.
During an episode of the Shagged, Married, Annoyed podcast, Vogue expressed her excitement about being part of Gladiators, describing it as an incredible experience she had always hoped for. She reminisced about her childhood fascination with the show and the challenges she faced during filming, particularly struggling with the infamous Travelator obstacle.
Vogue shared that despite feeling intimidated by the Gladiators, she admired them for being empowering role models for young girls. The BBC revived Gladiators in 2024, two decades after ITV canceled the original series. Sky One had previously attempted a revival, airing two seasons from 2008 to 2009.
Ahead of the show’s premiere, Vogue conveyed her childhood admiration for Gladiators, expressing her excitement about stepping into the arena and competing against the formidable Gladiators. The Gladiators Celebrity Special featuring Vogue Williams will air today at 3.35 pm on BBC One.
