An 18-year-old male from Pennsylvania has been taken into custody for allegedly shooting both of his parents, resulting in the death of his mother shortly after the Christmas holiday.
The suspect, identified as Jarrod Noll, was apprehended in West Virginia following an extensive search conducted by Pennsylvania law enforcement. Upon his arrest, authorities found him in possession of a weapon. The incident occurred on December 26th around 1:58 pm local time.
Law enforcement responded to a shooting incident involving two individuals at a residence on Garrison Road in Freeport Township after receiving distress calls. At the scene, they discovered an adult female victim with a gunshot wound. She was immediately transported to J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia, in critical condition but unfortunately succumbed to her injuries later.
Additionally, a male victim was found with gunshot wounds and was also taken to the same hospital. Fortunately, he has been discharged and is now in stable condition. Investigations revealed that the victims were a married couple, and their biological son was the alleged assailant.
After the shooting, the suspect fled on foot, prompting a widespread search in the area. Authorities issued a warning that the suspect could be armed and dangerous, providing a detailed physical description. Eventually, Noll was captured by West Virginia State Police without resistance.
It was disclosed that Noll’s younger siblings were present at the scene during the shooting but were unharmed as the incident occurred outdoors. They are currently under the care of a family member.
Noll remains in custody in West Virginia awaiting extradition to Pennsylvania where he will face charges of homicide and attempted homicide.
