Passenger Refutes Claims Elderly Woman Was Dead Before Boarding

Passenger on Malaga to London Flight Denies Woman Was Already Dead Before Boarding

A passenger seated next to an elderly woman on an easyJet flight from Malaga to London Gatwick on December 19 has refuted claims by other passengers that the woman was already deceased before boarding the plane.

The flight experienced a significant delay of over 12 hours after cabin crew identified that the woman required immediate medical attention, and she was later confirmed to have passed away.

Contrary to passenger assertions that the woman was already dead when brought onto the aircraft by her family, easyJet has stated that the woman had been cleared to fly before boarding.

A fellow traveler named Tony Coatesworth has come forward to state that he observed the woman alive when she entered the plane. Responding to comments on social media, Coatesworth emphasized that the woman was not deceased when he saw her being seated next to him, countering misinformation circulating online about the incident.

The flight, originally scheduled to depart at 11:15 am and arrive at 1:10 pm, departed from Malaga at 10:47 pm, causing a delay of nearly 12 hours. Upon arrival in London around midnight, 19-year-old passenger Elizabeth Rowland expressed her immediate belief that the woman was not alive upon seeing her.

Another passenger, Petra Boddington, criticized easyJet ground staff for allowing the woman, who appeared unwell, to board the flight, disrupting the travel plans of other passengers. The incident sparked disbelief and criticism from other travelers, questioning why a visibly unwell individual was permitted to fly.

The Civil Guard in Malaga confirmed that they responded to assist the elderly British woman, who was declared deceased on the plane. An easyJet spokesperson expressed condolences to the woman’s family and highlighted that passenger and crew well-being is their top priority.

The circumstances surrounding the woman’s condition and boarding onto the flight have raised concerns among passengers, emphasizing the need for transparency and adherence to safety protocols in similar situations.
