A tragic incident occurred as a football manager and three of his children lost their lives when a tour boat sank in turbulent waters. Fernando Martin, aged 44, who was coaching Valencia CF’s Women’s B team, was onboard with his family when the boat went down in Komodo National Park, situated off the coast of Indonesia. The football club confirmed the demise of Martin and his children, aged 9, 10, and 12, while his wife, Andrea, and their seven-year-old daughter, Mar, survived the ordeal.
The boat, carrying the family, four crew members, and a local guide, experienced engine failure during a journey from Komodo Island to Padar Island, according to officials. Fathur Rahman, the head of the Maumere Search and Rescue Office, mentioned that three individuals were rescued by a passing vessel, while four others were retrieved by a search and rescue team. Due to adverse weather conditions, the search for the missing four individuals was halted on Saturday evening and is scheduled to resume early on Sunday.
Valencia CF expressed deep sorrow over the loss of Fernando Martín and his children in the tragic boating accident in Indonesia. Real Madrid also extended condolences to the family of Martin, acknowledging the passing of the Valencia C. F. Women’s B coach and his three children.
