A tragic incident unfolded during a Christmas dinner in Jaguariúna, Brazil, where a man, Leandro Flaeschen Moreira, was fatally stabbed by his girlfriend’s son, Caio César dos Santos Bartolomeu, 18, moments after exchanging a holiday kiss. The attack, which resulted in Leandro’s death, occurred when Bartolomeu disapproved of his mother’s relationship with Leandro. As his mother wished Leandro a ‘Merry Christmas’ at midnight, a kiss was shared, triggering Bartolomeu to brandish a hidden knife and fatally stab Leandro. During the altercation, Sidneia Gonçalves dos Santos, the mother, was also injured while trying to restrain her son.
The disturbing incident was witnessed by Leandro’s 16-year-old daughter, who has since been placed in temporary foster care by Child Protective Services. Following the attack, Bartolomeu fled the scene and reportedly went on to harm three more individuals in the surrounding area. Authorities have initiated an investigation into the homicide and bodily harm, leading to Bartolomeu’s subsequent arrest after being cornered by local residents and later taken to a hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, Sidneia and the other three victims injured in the aftermath were promptly taken to the emergency room for necessary medical attention. Leandro’s body was transferred to a forensic medical institute for an autopsy. This tragic event occurred shortly after a devastating Christmas Eve car crash in the same state, where five members of a family, including children, lost their lives after their vehicle was struck by a BMW on the SP-331 motorway in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The driver of the BMW sustained minor injuries and is currently under investigation for the circumstances surrounding the collision.
