Five members of a single family, including two children, tragically lost their lives in a car accident on Christmas Eve. The victims were identified as Luís Carlos de Souza Pinheiro, 36, Paula Daniela Martins, 45, their 12-year-old and four-year-old children, and Paula’s sister Dulcinéia Lozano. The fatal crash occurred when their vehicle was struck by a BMW on the SP-331 motorway, resulting in a fiery collision.
The driver of the BMW sustained minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. According to the driver, the family’s car was stationary on the roadway without its lights on. The driver declined to undergo a breathalyser test, and authorities are currently investigating the incident.
Paula, known for her cheese-selling business, and her sister Dulcinéia, a preschool teacher, were well-liked figures in the community. Luís Carlos, affectionately called ‘Batore’, often shared family moments on social media, including images of their children enjoying horseback riding.
The Iacanga Municipal Council extended condolences to the family, who were residents of a small town in the Sao Paulo district. The council announced a three-day mourning period to honor the deceased.
