Having been diagnosed with autism and ADHD in 2021, Christine disclosed that she had just received her diagnosis during the show but had not made it public at the time. She participated in the program for her mother, who was battling breast cancer and had a strong desire to be part of it despite her own fears and anxieties about performing in front of an audience.
During the production, a week before the final dance filming, Christine attended her children’s Nativity play, where she was moved by their progress. Witnessing their growth and determination, Christine felt inspired to face her own fears and lead by example for her kids. She emphasized the importance of showing her children that she could overcome challenges and be independent.
In June 2022, Paddy and Christine announced their separation after 11 years of marriage, although they continued to cohabit for the sake of their children. Christine, who had faced personal struggles in recent years, shared her journey to feeling better after coming off her ADHD medication. She reflected on the impact of public attention on her family life and contemplated the effects of fame on her children’s well-being.
