While over three million UK households have already made the switch to Digital Voice, many more are yet to do so.
BT has issued a reminder to customers, stressing the importance of acting promptly to avoid disruptions to phone and broadband services as the deadline approaches. Users are encouraged to ensure their landline and home phone are prepared for the transition, as copper wires are gradually becoming obsolete.
The process of switching to digital landlines is straightforward for most BT handsets, often allowing users to retain their existing phone number and billing structure without any price increase. In cases where a simple plug-in to the broadband hub is insufficient, contacting the provider or arranging an engineer visit may be necessary.
Customers with special requirements, such as those using telecare devices or pendant alarms, are advised to inform their provider promptly to receive appropriate support.
