“Canada Dominates 2026 FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series in Takasaki Victory”

Canada showcased their dominance at the 2026 FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series by clinching victory in the Takasaki leg. They outplayed Japan in the final with a convincing 20-10 win, marking their second triumph of the season following their success in Shanghai earlier in May.

The Canadian team, seeded at the top, asserted their authority throughout the tournament, breezing through Pool A and securing wins over China (21-9) in the quarterfinals and Neftchi SOCAR (22-12) in the semifinals. Noteworthy performances included Paige Crozon’s 11 points and eight rebounds against China and Merissah Russell’s contribution of eight points in the semifinal match.

In the final showdown, Canada established an early lead and maintained control until the end, ultimately securing a resounding 20-10 victory over Japan to claim the Takasaki title. Merissah Russell stood out as the tournament’s MVP, topping the charts in player value (45.3) and drives (12), while also ranking second in total points (32) and highlights (17).

Despite their impressive display, Canada will not progress to the Project Redwings Shanghai Final in September, concluding their Women’s Series campaign on a high note.
