Canada’s head coach, Cindy Tye, has announced the squad for the upcoming under-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland. The roster comprises 21 players, including three goalkeepers, five defenders, eight midfielders, and five forwards for the event scheduled from September 5 to 27.
Additionally, six alternates will accompany the team to Poland to aid in preparations before the World Cup kicks off. The team, along with players, coaches, and staff, will convene in Lublin, Poland, on August 23, before shifting to their tournament base camp in Bielsko-Biala on August 30. A closed-door match against Spain is scheduled for August 31.
As part of Group B, Canada, one of the 24 participating nations, will face off against England on September 5, followed by a match with Brazil on September 8. The group stage will conclude on September 11 with a game against Tanzania.
The Canadian team secured its place in the U-20 World Cup following a victory at the 2025 CONCACAF Women’s U-20 Championship, where the country clinched the regional title for the third time.
Coach Tye expressed the team’s readiness for the challenge ahead, emphasizing the need for players to embrace the competition, exhibit confidence, and seize the opportunity to represent Canada on the global stage.
