Thousands of individuals gathered in Corner Brook this week to attend the 50th Newfoundland and Labrador Summer Games, with a local establishment being the exclusive provider of all event merchandise.
MegaTrends, a Corner Brook-based business specializing in embroidery, screen printing, and signage, was tasked with creating numerous items for the occasion. The company produced thousands of T-shirts, 3,000 lanyards, and approximately 1,400 medals for the event.
Owner Rob Marche, reflecting on the experience, described it as a mix of enjoyment and pressure, emphasizing that such challenges are inherent in entrepreneurship. Marche, who has been in the T-shirt printing business since the early 2000s, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to the event, particularly noting the joy of seeing participants proudly wearing the merchandise.
According to Marche, the T-shirts featuring the N.L. Games logo play a crucial role in fostering a sense of belonging and unity among attendees. Drawing a parallel to sports jerseys enhancing performance, he suggested that wearing event merchandise could similarly elevate one’s experience.
To manage the surge in demand leading up to the games, Marche launched an online store several weeks prior. Despite facing a significant influx of orders, he credited the efficiency of his automatic screen printer for streamlining the fulfillment process.
Marche acknowledged the vital role played by the MegaTrends team in successfully executing the merchandise production, expressing pride in their collective effort. He attributed their success to the collaborative spirit within the team, emphasizing the importance of teamwork in achieving desired outcomes.
In a related development, a video feature showcased Marche’s insights on the impact of wearing event merchandise on individual performance and sense of community at the N.L. Summer Games.
