Metrolinx Announces Weekend GO Train Service Disruption

Metrolinx announced that there will be no GO train service between Stratford and Mount Pleasant stations on the Kitchener line over the weekend due to essential track upgrades. Commuters traveling to or from Toronto will need to utilize bus services from Kitchener or Guelph GO stations to reach alternative stations:

– Passengers from Kitchener will be bussed to Bramalea GO for train connections or can continue on to Hwy 407 bus terminal for access to TTC Line 1 to Union Station.
– Guelph and Stratford riders will take buses to Mount Pleasant GO station.

During Saturday and Sunday, GO train operations will only be available between Mount Pleasant and Mount Dennis GO stations. At Mount Dennis, passengers can transfer to the TTC for Union Station access.

GO Transit has advised of late-night service adjustments on Friday night and slight schedule changes for Monday and Tuesday:

– Eastbound departures from Stratford, Kitchener, and Guelph will leave two minutes earlier.
– Westbound trains from Union will arrive in Guelph, Kitchener, and Stratford two minutes later.

Regular service is anticipated to resume by Wednesday as Metrolinx undertakes crucial groundwork for a second track and corridor enhancements along the Kitchener line.
