A police officer resigned from the force after making inappropriate comments about lesbians, pornography, and sex to colleagues. Adil Mohammed, a former officer at Northumbria Police, was found to have made sexualized remarks to multiple individuals while on duty. One instance involved him commenting on a colleague’s appearance, stating, “You have a great bum, I always look at your bum.” He also made inappropriate remarks to another officer, mentioning their physical appearance and discussing explicit topics like pornography and masturbation.
During a misconduct hearing, it was revealed that Mohammed had made similar comments to a third officer, including remarks about their weight and appearance. He also engaged in discussions about lesbians and sexual activities, displaying a pattern of inappropriate behavior.
Despite denying the allegations, a panel found the accusations against Mohammed to be true and determined that his conduct constituted gross misconduct. The panel concluded that if he were still serving, he would have been dismissed from the force. As a result, Mohammed will be placed on the barred list, prohibiting him from future employment in law enforcement.
The panel emphasized the importance of upholding professional standards and respect within the police service, stating that officers, especially experienced ones like Mohammed, should demonstrate greater professionalism in their interactions.
