A young expectant mother was violently pulled into a pond and nearly drowned by her partner following her sharing of baby shower pictures on social media.
The pregnant teenager, unnamed, had posted images with her baby’s father, Dominic Thomas, on Facebook. However, instead of reacting positively, Thomas became aggressive as he was in a secret relationship with another woman who saw the photos online. This led to Thomas sending threatening messages to his pregnant girlfriend, expressing his intent to take action against her.
Subsequently, Thomas was sentenced to 15 years in prison for attempted murder after the terrifying ordeal. The victim, just 17 at the time, warned Thomas of the consequences of his actions, emphasizing the impact on their unborn child.
According to police reports, the couple had been having disputes due to Thomas dating another woman without his girlfriend’s knowledge. The situation escalated after the baby shower photos were shared, prompting Thomas to send menacing texts and ultimately attempting to drown his partner.
Thomas admitted to police that he wanted to harm the victim due to the predicament he found himself in with his secret lover. He halted the attack when the victim mentioned their child, indicating a moment of remorse during the disturbing incident. Thomas, now 24, was found guilty of attempted first-degree murder after a trial in 2024.
