Caroline, the mother of Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty, has revealed how the family plans to spend their time as Adam ties the knot with Holly Ramsay in Bath today. Caroline, who was not invited to the wedding, originally intended to quietly observe from a distance but decided against it to avoid overshadowing the couple’s special day.
Instead, Caroline shared that the family will spend the day together while Adam, 30, and Holly, 25, exchange vows in the presence of notable guests like David Beckham and Victoria Beckham. Caroline mentioned that her husband Mark expressed his desire for her not to be upset throughout the day.
In an interview with the Mail, Caroline disclosed that their current plan is to take her mother, Mavis Williams, for a leisurely drive near their home in Staffordshire to enjoy the scenic countryside and distract themselves from the wedding.
Mavis gained online attention during the Olympics with the hashtag #OlympicNan for her enthusiastic support of Adam. She expressed her joy in witnessing Adam’s rise to fame and success.
While Adam’s immediate family won’t be attending the wedding, his sister Bethany, who is also one of Holly’s bridesmaids, will be present. On the other hand, Holly’s family, including her father Gordon Ramsay, sisters Tilly and Megan, and brother Jack, will be in attendance.
The contrasting backgrounds of the two families are evident, with Holly growing up in a wealthy environment due to her father’s successful television career and restaurant business, while Adam’s upbringing involved financial struggles as the son of a caretaker and nursery manager.
Despite the challenges, Adam’s dedication to swimming paid off, leading him to achieve Olympic gold. Reports of family tension surfaced earlier this year when Caroline was excluded from Holly’s hen party, sparking rumors of discord within the family dynamics. However, Caroline made it clear that her love and support for Adam remain unwavering, despite any misunderstandings that may have arisen.
The family rift speculation heightened when invitations were retracted in November, coinciding with Caroline’s 60th birthday passing without public acknowledgment from Adam. Nevertheless, Caroline reassured her son online that her door is always open for him to seek comfort and support whenever needed.
