“Chancellor’s Budget Focus: NHS, Debt, Cost of Living”

In a few days, I will present my second Budget as the Chancellor. My focus will be on supporting working families by addressing key issues such as reducing NHS waiting lists, cutting national debt, and lowering the cost of living. These priorities align with the nation’s needs and my responsibilities as Chancellor.

Reducing NHS waiting lists is crucial as we aim to uplift the NHS from previous challenges, undo the impacts of austerity measures, and ensure patients receive timely treatment. Addressing national debt is essential to allocate resources towards essential services like education, healthcare, law enforcement, and community development, rather than debt interest payments.

Lowering the cost of living is a top concern, especially for households facing financial pressures. High prices disproportionately affect ordinary families, highlighting the need for economic improvements that benefit working individuals. The upcoming Budget will include measures to alleviate these burdens, building on the government’s efforts to ease financial strains on households.

Initiatives such as freezing prescription charges, maintaining rail fares, introducing school breakfast clubs, and combating ticket touting have already demonstrated our commitment to supporting people with daily expenses. The Budget aims to expand these efforts further, ensuring continued relief for individuals and families.

Stability in the economy has enabled us to address cost-of-living challenges effectively by controlling spending and preventing past mistakes. Measures to eliminate waste and fraud will ensure that funds are directed where they are most needed, whether in asylum support, eliminating police and crime commissioner roles, or preventing welfare fraud.

The Budget will be tailored to benefit families directly, fostering a fairer, stronger, and more secure future for Britain.
