“Christian Horner in Running for Aston Martin Team Principal Role”

Christian Horner is reportedly being considered as a potential replacement for Andy Cowell as the team principal of Aston Martin. Cowell, aged 56, is rumored to be on the verge of dismissal following the recent Las Vegas Grand Prix. Horner, the former head of Red Bull, has been eager to return to Formula 1 since leaving his previous role in July.

After a challenging race in Las Vegas, reports from RacingNews365 suggest that Cowell is facing removal from his position at Aston Martin due to the team’s current struggles in the Constructors’ Championship, where they sit in seventh place, just eight points ahead of Sauber in ninth. The frontrunner to take over is believed to be Andreas Seidl, a former McLaren and Sauber executive.

Despite initial rumors linking Horner to Aston Martin prior to the Singapore Grand Prix, Cowell promptly denied any interest in the 52-year-old, stating that there were no plans for Horner to be involved with the team in any capacity.

BBC Sport has reported that Horner is also in contention to succeed Cowell at Aston Martin. Horner, a well-known figure in the sport, has been connected to various teams since his departure, including Ferrari, Haas, and Alpine, making this potential opportunity his most significant since stepping away from his previous role.

If Horner were to make a comeback with Aston Martin, it would lead to a reunion with his rival Zak Brown, the CEO of McLaren Racing, who had previously criticized Horner for changing due to fame, money, and success.

Meanwhile, Red Bull had a successful outing in Las Vegas, with Max Verstappen claiming victory in the race to keep his hopes alive in the Drivers’ Championship. McLaren faced disqualification after the race, resulting in Verstappen closing the points gap to Norris at the top of the standings as they head to the next race in Qatar.
