Two individuals have been detained on suspicion of attempted murder following a shooting incident that left a man critically injured. The disturbing event unfolded in Willenhall, a town in the Black Country, on the evening prior to Christmas Eve. Authorities from West Midlands Police apprehended two suspects, aged 50 and 27, in connection with the attempted murder case.

Emergency services responded to the scene at 7:28 pm on Tuesday, deploying an ambulance team consisting of paramedics, a MERIT trauma doctor, and a critical care paramedic. Upon arrival, they discovered a man in his twenties with severe injuries, prompting the medical team to administer advanced trauma care before transporting him to a hospital for urgent treatment.

West Midlands Police disclosed that an active investigation is ongoing at the location, which has been cordoned off for further examination. Law enforcement officers are conducting thorough inquiries, including interviews with local residents and scrutiny of CCTV footage. Additionally, patrols have been intensified in the vicinity to bolster security measures.

A spokesperson from the West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed the incident, stating: “We received a distress call at 7:28 pm regarding a shooting incident on Wordsworth Road in Willenhall. Our response team, comprising two ambulances, two paramedic officers, a MERIT trauma doctor, and a critical care paramedic, promptly arrived at the scene.”

The police spokesperson provided details, saying: “Two individuals were apprehended after an injured man was discovered on Wordsworth Road in Willenhall last night. We were alerted by ambulance personnel around 7:30 pm and promptly arrived at the scene where the victim in his twenties was receiving medical attention.”

“The victim was subsequently transported to the hospital with serious injuries believed to be life-threatening. Following swift investigations, two suspects, aged 50 and 27, were taken into custody on suspicion of attempted murder. They are currently detained as the inquiry progresses,” the spokesperson added.

“We are conducting door-to-door interviews and analyzing CCTV footage to ascertain the exact sequence of events.
