Celebrity Big Brother: Late and Live’s Oti Mabuse said Chris Hughes’ Love Island fame is the reason people have a magnifying glass over his close relationship with JoJo Siwa. The reality star rose to fame on the ITV2 programme in 2017, where he came in third place with Olivia Attwood.
While he’s appeared on many programmes, the Celebrity Big Brother house is the first time he’s been living under a roof with other stars while being monitored 24/7 since Love Island. Fans have been watching in recent weeks as Chris and JoJo cuddle, massage each other, teach each other dance moves and enjoy many intimate moments together.
During Wednesday night’s Late and Live, the conversation turned to Chris and JoJo’s friendship, which has many people questioning whether they’re “playing a game”.
I’m A Celebrity star Oti said: “I also think Chris has that Love Island umbrella over him so people will always associated him even if he’s with a woman, whether they’re together or not. If it’s with a female person, they’ll always assume something is going on. It’s something you can’t control.
Earlier this week, fans slammed Chris for making a ‘creepy’ comment to JoJo. In a recent episode of the show, the pals got tongues wagging again when Chris asked JoJo to lick some chocolate off his shorts.
Sitting on the sofa, noticing the small stain, Chris said: “Oh, right, lick that off please. That has got to come off.” The former Love Islander then lifted his shorts toward JoJo’s face as he told her: “Start there. Imagine that wasn’t chocolate. Lick it you freak!”
JoJo replied: “I have to bite it off,” before using her teeth to remove the chocolate. She branded the act a ‘pretty good job on her behalf’.
Taking to X, airing their distaste over the incident, one viewer fumed: “I’m sorry if you’re saving Chris, you’re a weirdo just like him. Why the hell is he getting JoJo to lick stuff off his shorts ?! And she’s complying ? This is WEIRDO BEHAVIOUR!!
Another said: “Oh Big Brother.. you are wrong for those angles of JoJo and Chris when JoJo was licking chocolate off his shorts???”
Meanwhile a third posted: “Eww Chris is such a creep making JoJo lick his shorts. He knew what he was doing” as a fourth said: “Chris making JoJo lick his shorts like that feels very uncomfortable and non-innocent and I do not like it.”
The comments come as JoJo, who is in a relationship with actor, Kath Ebbs, revealed she identifies as queer during a conversation with Danny Beard.
JoJo told Danny: “I feel so queer. I’ve never – I think I’ve always told myself, I’m a lesbian. I think you – I think being here – I’ve realised I am not a lesbian, I’m queer.”
