A 13-year-old girl tragically passed away, and a 14-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of harassment in connection with her death last month, as confirmed by the police.
Emergency services responded to a residence around 5:30 p.m. on November 24 after receiving reports of concern for welfare. Madison Richardson was discovered at the scene, taken to the hospital, but unfortunately succumbed to her injuries. Following her death, Greater Manchester Police initiated an investigation, leading to the arrest of a 14-year-old boy on suspicion of harassment.
According to the police, allegations of harassment had been reported in the days preceding her demise. The boy has been released on bail while the investigation progresses, as detailed by Manchester Evening News.
Today, on Christmas Eve, Madison’s family and friends paid tribute as they prepare to navigate their first Christmas without the vibrant teenager they described as “one of a kind.” A family spokesperson expressed their devastation over the sudden loss of their daughter, highlighting Maddie’s cheerful and creative personality, her passion for art, and her protective nature towards her loved ones.
James Docherty, the executive headteacher at Teenage Kicks school in Failsworth, also commemorated Madison, praising her artistic talents, creativity, and ability to make others feel special through her artistry. He emphasized her unique qualities and the impact she had on the school community.
Detective Inspector Andrew Day from GMP’s Oldham district extended sympathies to Madison’s family and friends during this difficult time, acknowledging the profound impact of her loss. The ongoing investigation aims to uncover the circumstances surrounding Madison’s death, including any potential contributing factors from others, to provide closure and answers for her loved ones.
