Sigourney Weaver has addressed concerns regarding an on-screen kiss with a younger co-star in the movie “Avatar: Fire and Ash.” The 76-year-old actress utilized motion-capture technology to portray teenage Na’vi Kiri, sharing a tender moment with a character named Spider, played by Jack Champion, who was 14 at the time of filming.
Weaver explained that precautions were taken to ensure Champion’s comfort during the filming process, particularly in the scene involving a kiss. Instead of the actors themselves, stand-ins were used for the kissing scene. Despite initial reservations, Weaver expressed satisfaction with the scene’s emotional authenticity upon viewing the final cut of the film.
The actress highlighted the unique dynamic between her character and Spider, emphasizing the playful element their interactions brought to her performance. She also praised Champion’s acting skills, describing their on-screen collaboration as a delightful experience.
