The incident occurred on a Málaga to Gatwick flight on December 18, where concerns about the 89-year-old woman were raised by a crew member before take-off. Despite possessing a fit-to-fly certificate, allegations surfaced that the woman had passed away before boarding, resulting in an 11-hour delay after the aircraft returned to the terminal.
Elizabeth Rowland, a witness seated near the pensioner, recounted how the family tried to rouse the woman and engage her as if she were conscious. Another passenger, Petra Boddington, observed the unfolding events, expressing growing concern over the elderly lady’s condition. Witnesses noted her being wheeled onto the plane in a visibly frail state, prompting reactions from fellow passengers who remarked on her apparent lack of fitness for travel.
