“Murder Investigation Launched for Slain Ohio Couple”

An investigation into a homicide is currently ongoing following the discovery of a young couple, deeply in love, found deceased in their residence.

Spencer Tepe and Monique Tepe, aged 37 and 39 respectively, were found murdered in their home on December 30, 2025, after authorities were alerted to check on their well-being. They had both sustained gunshot wounds, prompting law enforcement to launch a murder inquiry. Officials in Columbus, Ohio, are waiting for the coroner’s reports, including toxicology findings.

The couple, survived by their two young children, along with their extended family, are reportedly devastated by the tragic incident that occurred shortly after the holiday season.

In a statement, Spencer’s brother-in-law, Rob Misleh, expressed profound sorrow, describing the couple as exceptional individuals who radiated love, happiness, and strong bonds with others. The family is determined to seek justice for this heartbreaking event.

As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the double homicide. Reports indicate that Spencer sustained multiple gunshot wounds while Monique was shot once in the chest.

Concerns arose when Spencer, a dentist, failed to report to work, prompting colleagues to raise alarm as it was uncharacteristic of him, according to previous coverage by WSYX. Subsequently, law enforcement visited the family’s residence in Columbus on December 30, where sounds of distressed children were reportedly heard inside.

Local media disclosed that audio recordings from a police officer’s device captured moments where children’s voices were heard from inside the residence, underscoring the challenges faced by authorities in gaining access.

Dr. Mark Valrose, a colleague of Spencer at the dental clinic, mentioned the difficulty in reaching Monique, adding to the growing concerns surrounding the couple’s well-being.

To support the children left behind by the tragic incident, a GoFundMe page has been established. Law enforcement authorities have yet to identify any persons of interest or suspects in the case, urging anyone with relevant information to contact the Columbus Police Homicide Unit or Central Ohio Crime Stoppers.

This incident follows the legal proceedings involving three teenagers who were recently sentenced for the fatal assault on a homeless man in a separate case.

Eymaiyah Lee Bradshaw-McKoy, Mia Campos-Jorge, and Jaidee Bingham were involved in the attack on Anthony Marks, resulting in his death weeks later due to brain injuries. Bingham was found guilty of murder, while Bradshaw-McKoy and Campos-Jorge were convicted of manslaughter. Despite missed opportunities to intervene, all three individuals were held accountable for his demise.
