Molly-Mae Hague achieved a significant milestone in her career at the 2025 National Television Awards on Wednesday night. She won the Best Authored Documentary award for her Amazon Prime series, “Molly-Mae: Behind It All.”
The 26-year-old former Love Island star was surprised and overjoyed when her name was announced as the winner, triumphing over competitors like Strictly Come Dancing’s Amy Dowden and Rob Burrow.
After her breakup with fiance Tommy Fury last year, Molly-Mae’s documentary chronicled her process of healing and coping with a broken heart in the public eye. The six-part series, which became a hit upon its January release, also showcased Molly-Mae’s challenges in co-parenting her two-year-old daughter Bambi with Tommy, who was dealing with alcohol-related issues at the time.
Despite some criticism regarding her win, especially in comparison to emotionally charged documentaries by other nominees like Amy Dowden and Rob Burrow, Molly-Mae dedicated her award to Rob Burrow. She acknowledged his inspiring story and the impact it had on her.
In a post-win interview, Molly-Mae expressed her closeness to the cause of motor neurone disease, citing Rob Burrow’s documentary as a touching and impactful piece that deserved recognition. She attributed her win to the support she received and emphasized the influence of the powerful stories shared by her fellow nominees.
The recognition at the NTAs deeply touched Molly-Mae, who felt grateful for the acknowledgment of her efforts and honesty in sharing her struggles. She expressed her appreciation for the support and strength displayed by those she competed against in her category.
Molly-Mae’s dedication to Rob Burrow and his family highlighted the importance of raising awareness about motor neurone disease, a cause that holds personal significance for her.
