“Glasghost Event Fails to Haunt Parents, Draws Willy Wonka Comparisons”

A Halloween event for children faced criticism from disappointed parents, likened to the infamous Glasgow Willy Wonka event. Glasghost, promoted as a spooky family experience with various activities like a ghost train, silent disco, and more, fell short of expectations.

Attendees reported that the silent disco only played Michael Jackson’s Thriller on repeat, while long queues for attractions like laser tag led to underwhelming setups with black sheets. The pumpkin patch and ghost train also received negative feedback, with some describing the overall experience as subpar.

One mother, Elaine Wylie, expressed her dismay on TikTok, labeling the event a “shambles” reminiscent of the Willy Wonka disaster. Other parents took to social media to share similar sentiments, cautioning against attending Glasghost and highlighting the lackluster offerings for the ticket prices.

Despite these criticisms, the event organizer, Fan Frontier, acknowledged initial operational challenges but stated that improvements were made promptly. They emphasized that most guests enjoyed the event, although they acknowledged room for enhancement based on feedback. Fan Frontier defended the event’s uniqueness and production standards, dismissing comparisons to unrelated incidents.

Overall, while some attendees were dissatisfied with the Glasghost experience, the organizer is committed to addressing issues and ensuring a better event experience in the future.
