“Freeview TV Adds wedotv Movies UK & Cartoon Classics”

If you own a Freeview TV at home, now is a great time to ensure it’s updated and retuned. Recently, two new channels have been added to the free-to-view platform, offering movies and children’s TV content.

The first addition is wedotv Movies UK, transitioning from an online service to a full-fledged over-the-air channel. This change allows all households to access the channel without requiring an internet-connected TV. wedotv Movies UK features a lineup of recent blockbuster films like One-Eyed Jacks, Willow Creek, and The Way.

Additionally, a new channel called Cartoon Classics has been introduced for younger viewers, available on channel 214. This channel showcases classic animated shows such as The Smurfs, Count Duckula, Sonic X, and Leo & Tig.

To enjoy these new channels on your TV, it’s recommended to update your settings. Freeview has announced that on October 22, 2025, broadcasters will be implementing changes to channels, requiring viewers to retune their TVs for channel and TV Guide updates.

In addition to the new channels, there is a name change for one service on Freeview. Gems TV on channel 45 will now be known as Gemporia.

Freeview has provided instructions on how to retune devices. Users should follow these steps:

– Press the menu button on your TV remote or box.
– Select options like ‘set-up’, ‘installation’, or ‘update’. If prompted for a password, use ‘1234’ or ‘0000’.
– Choose ‘first-time installation’ or similar.
– Confirm the deletion of existing channels if prompted, and the retuning process should start automatically. Save any found channels if required.

Freeview emphasized that channels are constantly evolving, with individual channels making decisions to move, add, or remove content. The platform aims to offer audiences a diverse range of content for an enriched viewing experience.
