He advised the use of bulletproof glass panels and metal detectors to enhance Kirk’s safety. Herzog highlighted the importance of protective measures, such as ballistic glass, to prevent potential sniper attacks targeting Kirk.
Following Kirk’s tragic death, President Donald Trump referred to him as a “martyr for truth and freedom,” condemning the demonization of political opponents in the US. Trump attributed the escalating political violence to the rhetoric of the radical left, citing his own experiences with assassination attempts during the previous year’s campaign. However, Trump’s remarks did not address attacks on Democratic figures, underscoring the broader issue of political violence affecting individuals across different ideological spectrums in the country.
