“Community Mourns Dedicated Huddersfield Volunteer”

Tributes are pouring in for a courageous woman from Huddersfield known for her dedicated work at a local street kitchen, who tragically passed away during a family vacation.

Kristen Jennifer, 41, residing in Almondbury, Huddersfield, lost her life while on a family trip to Turkey in September after experiencing breathing difficulties. Her family and fellow volunteers at Huddersfield Street Kitchen have been sharing heartfelt tributes, emphasizing her significant role within the volunteer group. Her two sons remember her not only as their mother but also as their best friend.

Described as someone always willing to lend a helping hand, Kristen’s family highlighted her positive outlook and her love for animals, with her children being the center of her world. Kristen had devoted five years to supporting Huddersfield Street Kitchen before her untimely passing. Founder Danny Burrows, 43, commended Kristen for her dedication and selflessness, stating that she was like a little sister to all the volunteers.

In remembrance of Kristen, volunteers at the kitchen have initiated a weekly ‘Kristen’s Night Kitchen service’, in addition to the existing Thursday hot meal service. This extension was launched to honor Kristen’s wish of expanding the kitchen’s outreach. Furthermore, a GoFundMe campaign has been set up to assist Kristen’s family during this difficult period, with the team at Huddersfield Street Kitchen recognizing Kristen as a vital part of their community.

The GoFundMe page highlights Kristen’s unwavering spirit and her love for animals, particularly horses, aiming to create a lasting legacy in her honor.
