A well-loved influencer known as the “trucker girl” who encouraged women to enter the typically male-dominated field of lorry driving has sadly passed away.
Oti Cabadas, also known as Coco Trucker Girl, aged 41, tragically died after collapsing on her way home from a classic car gathering. The renowned social media personality, with a substantial online following for her positive trucking videos, began experiencing severe headaches before fainting in Alcaniz, Spain. She was swiftly airlifted to a hospital in Zaragoza but unfortunately succumbed shortly after due to an unexpected stroke.
Originally from Fornelos de Montes in Galicia, Oti transitioned from a career in hairdressing to pursue a life on the road driving large vehicles. She embarked on her lorry journey at 22 years old and later settled in Palencia, where her career flourished.
Despite being discouraged by a teacher in the past, Oti traveled thousands of miles across Europe, documenting her adventures through videos. Her charm, humor, and infectious positivity made her a social media sensation, particularly on TikTok, where she amassed over 300,000 followers. In her content, she shared the joys and challenges of life on the road, including her trademark “red-lip Fridays.”
Using her platform, she advocated for work-life balance and equal opportunities within the transport industry. Following her untimely demise, tributes poured in from the trucking community in Spain.
The Spanish Confederation of Freight Transport praised Oti as an inspiration for her passion, energy, and trailblazing spirit in a traditionally male-dominated sector. They acknowledged her role in paving the way for women in transportation, emphasizing the importance of pursuing one’s passions.
Her grieving fans have flooded her last social media posts with heartfelt messages and emotional tributes, expressing their deep sorrow over her passing. One follower wrote, “Rest in peace Coco, sending hugs to your loved ones, our condolences.”
Another supporter shared, “I discovered her on Instagram when I saw her truck parked at La Cabrera’s restaurant. I admired her work. Life is unpredictable. Rest in peace.”
